REVIEW USWorking as a nurse practitioner for our Athens obgyns makes sense for Katie Sells. She was born and raised in Madison, Georgia, and she enjoys caring for the women who live in the area. “I enjoy caring for women as they navigate all of the different life changes from adolescence to menopause,” she explains.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. Then, while working as a labor and delivery nurse, she completed her Master of Science at Georgia State University and became certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).
In her role as a labor and delivery nurse, Katie Sells helped women with routine and high-risk pregnancies safely welcome their babies into the world. However, pregnancy and childbirth aren’t her only areas of expertise.
The nurse practitioner for our Athens obgyns also has experience guiding young women through their first obgyn appointment, helping women make decisions about birth control, treating routine health issues and working with women to help them manage issues that are common before, during and after menopause. “Women go through so many changes in their lives, and I’m honored to help them navigate them,” Katie says.
Working with our Athens obgyns keeps our nurse practitioner busy. However, when Katie Sells isn’t working, she enjoys reading, running and spending time with her husband and three children.
