Meredith Bolton MD came to Athens from East Tennessee
Born and raised in East Tennessee, Meredith Bolton MD earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in history from East Tennessee State University. She then completed medical school and residency at Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. Our Athens obgyn was excited to move to Georgia to help the women in our community.
Today, Meredith Bolton MD is a proud Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a Board Certified OBGYN with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), and the Georgia OBGYN Society.
Meredith Bolton MD comes from a long line of obgyns
In the family of Meredith Bolton MD, helping women is a passion. Her paternal grandfather was a primary care physician who also did obstetrics and her father was an obgyn in East Tennessee. Our Athens obgyn fell in love with women’s healthcare while working with her father during her undergraduate years and assisting him in surgery.
According to Dr. Bolton, “I enjoy the continuity of care. I get to support a woman throughout her life, starting in puberty, with her first pelvic exam, guiding her through pregnancy and childbirth, and providing continued support through annual wellness visits and treating any problems that she may encounter in her sexual and reproductive health.”
Enjoying her free time with family
Meredith Bolton MD and her husband, Blaine, have three young children, two sons and a daughter. They also have a shelter rescue dog named Lily. When she isn’t working as an Athens obgyn, she and her family enjoy trying new restaurants, going to the beach, watching the kids play sports, meeting new people, spending time outdoors, exercising, supporting local businesses and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
