Cristina Elstad, MD is experienced in women’s healthcare and laparoscopic surgery
Our Athens obgyn feels passionate about providing exceptional care to all women. She wants to ensure that each patient feels comfortable to ask questions, and she strives to empower women to make positive lifestyle choices to become their very best selves.
“It’s an honor to work with women every day and help them navigate all of the changes in life, whether it’s starting birth control for the first time or transitioning through menopause. I aim to provide the type of care I would want for the women in my family.”
She provides day-to-day obgyn care, such as annual well checks, and contraception, and can help women who need some minimally invasive surgeries. She can also assist Spanish-speaking patients, as she speaks Spanish proficiently.
She is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and a member of the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (SAAOG).
Keeping busy outside of work
Outside of work, Cristina Elstad, MD, loves to run and cycle, do crafts of any kind and spend time outside with her more adventurous husband and two small kids. She and her husband moved back to Athens after their residency to work and teach in the community, where they met and completed their medical school training. They’re happy to be home!
